This is a detail from the portrait of Dr Doris Littlejohn, one of the seventy four portraits shown on this site. They are a selection from a greater number made over the last twenty years. Dr Doris Littlejohn was Chair of Court of the University of Stirling. I wanted her portrait to convey the wit and humour which laced together her many talents. My subjects come from all walks of life. They have included family groups and children; judges and QCs; peers, ambassadors and academics; scientists and doctors, and many others. Character is far more interesting than status. Portrait painting takes the patience and persistence of a hunter and requires the commitment of the sitter and artist alike. Many people are surprised to find sitting for a portrait an interesting and rewarding process, an island of peace in their busy lives. About the artist is a personal introduction. Commissioning a portrait gives a price guide and tells you what is involved in having a portrait painted. Visit the contact page if you would like to discuss a potential portrait. |
